Calligraphy

We will learn calligraphy from the basics such as stopping and paying. Even if you are new to calligraphy, we will provide you with detailed instructions on how to hold the calligraphy, posture, and equipment. We will lend you the necessary tools such as inkstones, brushes, and ink.
Students will practice based on the classic Rin-sho*, and at the beginner level they will learn kaisho, at intermediate level they will learn gyosho, and at advanced level they will learn all types of calligraphy, including seal, rei, sosho, and kana. It is also possible to obtain a dan if you wish.

*Rinsho is a method of carefully observing masterpieces of calligraphy from the past (=classics) as models, and copying them exactly.
